How to pick the right plow for my truck? Where to find a Used plow? Will this used plow fit my truck? These are all good questions but not easy answers. If you have a New truck and want a New plow this is easy all the manufactures have some form of program that you can enter all your truck info and it will give you the suggested plows. So you will need to then narrow down the snowplow you want to a brand then to one off their list. But in many cases people have an older truck and looking for a used plow. If you are getting a used plow that is still made you can use the program to make sure it will fit your truck. Many of the older plows like Western Unimount, Meyer Classic mount or even the old conventional mounts. These are no longer made so the mounts they originally made are your only option. The only brand that make a good solution is the Western Unimount they offered an Ultramount with a conversion kit so you can also put those Unimount plows on the newer trucks. A problem we often hear is someone bought a used SUV plow and they want to put it on a truck or they bought a truck plow and want to install it on a SUV. This is not a good fit they made them different for a reason. Always make sure a mount is made to put that specific plow on your specific truck.  Where to Find a used plow? Often they are for sale on eBay and Craigslist but you have no clue what you are getting. You will pay more from a reputable plow place but often in the end it will come out cheaper. Cause till you buy the plow then find out it is the wrong mount so you but that and a light harness the pump has problems you are up to what you could have bought one ready to go.
